The FIFA 12 game has just been released (the FIFA 12 release date was September 30 2011) and it promises to be one of the best selling sports games of 2011. So let me give you a full FIFA 12 review.
First of all it should be pointed out that it can be all too easy for games companies to make small changes here and there every time they bring out a new version of a particular game. However with FIFA 12 (or FIFA Soccer 12 as it’s known in the US) the changes are quite noticeable, and on the whole they have been welcomed by the majority of people that have already purchased this game.
(You can read lots of FIFA 12 customer reviews by checking out the product pages on Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com).
One of the most notable changes is that EA Sports made the decision to make the tackling a lot more realistic (and a little bit harder as well). So in this latest version you are able to position your defenders and jockey your opponents when they are running with the ball, and timing is now absolutely critical when diving in for a tackle.
Furthermore the players generally behave more realistically. Just like in real life, the players have different skills and characteristics, which is visible when they actually play. The CPU players have different characteristics, so notorious playmakers will indeed will be very good at picking out a pass, and midfield generals will indeed be really good tacklers, for example.
Most people who buy the FIFA 12 game will be interested in the actual gameplay more than anything else, and in that respect it is a lot better and more realistic than previous versions. You may find the new tackling features a little difficult to master at first, but you will slowly get used to it, and I’m sure you will appreciate the new defensive options and the importance of defensive tactics after a few matches.
Elsewhere FIFA 12 still retains some of the popular features of previous versions. For example the career mode is still there and has been improved upon slightly with a better interface and one or two new changes.
There is also a brand new online head-to-head season mode where you can compete against other human players in the various league and cup competitions, and a social networking service where you can challenge players to online friendlies.
So overall it looks like the FIFA 12 game is a big improvement on previous versions, as you would expect, particularly with regards to the improved gameplay during matches. It is now a lot more realistic, and with an impressive career mode and the option to go head to head with other players over the course of a whole season, it will surely be a very long time before you start to get bored with FIFA 12.
