In this blog post I want to talk about Zoom teeth whitening, including the overall cost and the possible side effects. In recent years the Zoom teeth whitening system has become one of the most popular ways to whiten your teeth, and many dental surgeries now offer this service to their patients.
So let’s start by discussing how much it costs to use the Zoom teeth whitening system.
In my own dental practice here in England it costs £599 to get your teeth whitened this way. This sounds like a lot for a simple procedure that takes around one and a half hours, but you will have instant results and you will have significantly whiter teeth for years to come.
Results vary from patient to patient of course, but many people report that they have had whiter teeth for several years afterwards. Indeed a lot of people have a whole lifetime of better-looking teeth if they give up smoking, try and avoid too much tea, coffee and wine, for instance, and use the top-up treatments every so often to keep them looking white.
Zoom teeth whitening doesn’t cost this much in all countries, however. In America it is often around the $500 mark, and in many other countries it is a lot cheaper than this. At the end of the day, you have to weigh up how much you really want whiter teeth.
You should also consider the side effects of the Zoom teeth whitening system. Whilst I would love to say that it is a completely painless procedure, I simply cannot do that.
If you have a look on the internet you will find several stories about people being in agony during the actual treatment. The one major side effect is that because some people have very sensitive teeth, it can be quite uncomfortable when the light-activated gel is applied to the teeth. In a minority of people it can be particularly painful, as I say, but for most people it is not a problem at all and in a lot of cases it is only a very small sensitivity that is easily tolerated.
You should, however, bear this in mind, particularly if you have a low pain threshold just in case your teeth do turn out to be sensitive to this procedure. It is always worth talking to your dentist before going through with the Zoom teeth whitening treatment, so he can tell you about any possible side effects and make sure that you are fully prepared to go through with the treatment.
Overall the vast majority of people are very happy with the final results of their Zoom teeth whitening treatment, so things like the cost and the possible side effects are not always that much of an issue for those people that really want whiter teeth.
